ON THE ROAD | Sunset Supposedly

Friday, September 28, 2012

I saw a great sunset today. The overcast sky opened and streamed down rays of golden light into a bay bordered by lush islets. A boat was anchored on its glittering waters and it was simply magical.

Unfortunately all I can do was look. I was on a busload of humanity from Tacloban City en route to Calbayog. I was sandwiched between two people; my camera bag on the floor wedged between my two numb feet and my huge backpack sitting on my lap covering my face.

So instead of that fiery sunset, all I can give you, dear readers, is a photo of the bus I rode for more than seven hours in total discomfort. I got a bit of a breather as the crew changed a flattened tire, I instantly whipped out the only camera available to me, my phone, and snapped a few photos.

  1. and these humanity didn't know who they are with.
I have many of these moments too..
Its when I could wish that everyone would just stop, look and feel the world around them.
I hope you know what I mean.
Its probably just one of my early morning thoughts.
Be safe! I wish I'm on the rode too..
I wouldn't mind being wedge between people as long as I am going somewhere.

  2. Christian, you should have taken Grand Tours' airconditioned vans from Tacloban to Calbayog. Not much different in price :(
