METRO MANILA | Microtel Breakfast Buffet at Millie’s
Sunday, October 07, 2012Like most hotels, Microtel at the Mall of Asia provides free breakfast for their guests. I like it when hotels give a free-for-all buffet rather than a set meal one. It means I won’t have to choose what I’m going to eat, I got to have them all haha.
The breakfast is set at Millie’s Restaurant at the ground floor of Microtel. Warm morning light was filtering in through the windows of the place. The restos’s furnishing looks modern and chic, red plush chairs match the textured placemats on wooden tables. Travel-themed artworks hang on walls reflecting the character of the person the restaurant is named for.
Dubbed after the hotel president’s mother; Millie looks like a big globe-trotter. Displays of her spoils from around the world are displayed on the restaurant’s walls; cigarette lighters of all kinds, glitzy purses, books, filled out passports and expensive perfumes.
We went down pretty late as we were too enamored by the comforts of Microtel’s accommodations especially after last night’s excellent rooftop dinner.
Early birds had already flocked the buffet table when we arrived. Steamed broccolis, egg omelettes, crispy fish fillets, grilled sausages and corned beef were the day’s fares. Across the table, soup, breads, fruits, salads and sweets were set.
My favorites were the crispy fish fillet and corned beef. I’m not much of a fish fillet fan but I really dig Millie’s version which has a crunchy coating that contrasts with its very tender meat. Its dip perfectly complimented its flavor.
Corned beefs are usual breakfast staples but Millie’s managed to do a different twist to the typical dish. In addition to the usual beef hash and onions were small tomatoes and shoestring potatoes which generously top the fare.
One doesn’t have to sleep over at Microtel to avail of Millie’s breakfast buffet. Even non-guests are welcome to feast on their buffer for Php450.00. I know it is a bit expensive, but for the quality of their servings, it is well worth your hard-earned cash. Or you can always just stay overnight and have it for free. :)

mura na rin ang P450 for a buffet i swear. huwag lang tipid ang choices.
