My On Assignment: Europe win is still resonating despite the years that has passed since. Bravo Filipino, a lifestyle and culture magazine, decided to grace a few of their glossy pages with my work on their sixth issue. The magazine features notable and talented Filipinos and it was heartening for them to include me in that roster.

The article delves on my wandering ways and touched briefly on the On Assignment competition sponsored by Digital Photographer Philippines, KLM Airlines and Lonely Planet Magazine. I love how writer Dianne Rosario titled and related the piece to Jack Kerouac; I never thought my name would ever cross with the great hipster writer in print.

Besides the said article, I also got to contribute a few photographs for their Time Travel to Vigan piece.

I was supposed to shoot the photos on assignment, which was supposed to include a photo op with Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson. The Gov’s schedule however was constantly changing and when the time came when he’s already free, I was out of town. Tough!

Good thing the editor still decided to utilize my Vigan photos from the previous instances that I visited the province. I especially love how they used my Plaza Salcedo photo for their spread; I didn’t know it would look so good in print!

I got my first magazine cover on Lonely Planet Philippine’s ninth issue. Now I get to have my first back cover too courtesy of Bravo Filipino!
