PUBLISHED | Panorama’s Buhay Probinsya
Monday, March 30, 2015A boy flying a colorful kite while running through a grassy field graces the cover of this week’s Philippine Panorama issue, their theme Buhay Probinsya.
I was fortunate enough to be given two spots for one of Manila Bulletin’s longest running Sunday magazine supplement; Countryside Escape and Local Flavors. This is my second time to contribute to Panorama and it’s always a pleasure to see my writing and photos translated into the printed page.
COUNTRYSIDE ESCAPE; FIVE BEST PLACES TO GO THIS SUMMER |
On the Countryside Escape, I detailed five provincial places in the Philippines where you can bring back childhood memories of your hometown province—Quirino Province, Romblon, Antique, Nueva Ecija, and Batanes.

LOCAL FLAVORS |
For Local Flavors, I listed down eight must-try regional dishes in the country. Those that made it included bagnet, pancit cabagan, pigar-pigar, chao long, satti, puyoy, and of course, my favorite, pancit batil patong.
Unlike my first published Philippine Panorama article, which I wasn’t able to get a hold of, I luckily stumbled upon a copy while staying at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City.
And although I wouldn’t really do a listicle on my own blog, preferring to write travelogues, I really didn’t mind doing—not one, but two—for Panorama. You can read the full articles here; Panorama Buhay Probinsya.
