What we really wanted to do right after arriving from a grueling twelve-hour bus ride from Manila to Tuguegarao City was to gobble a plateful of pancit batil patong from Jomar’s Panciteria. But it simply wasn’t possible, we were too doggone tired and all we wanted was to stretch out and sleep.

And that was exactly what we did. From nine in the morning, all the way to the late afternoon, we did nothing but snooze our heads off at the city’s first international hotel, the Holiday Plaza Hotel Tuguegarao.

THE HOLIDAY PLAZA HOTEL IN TUGUEGARAO

The four-storey, four-star hotel became our home for our three days of food-trippin’ through Tuguegarao’s panciterias. We were welcomed by two beautiful gals from the front desk and were escorted to our third floor room with no fuss. They have an elevator, so no need to trek all the way to our designated room.

STANDARD DELUXE ROOM AT THE HOLIDAY PLAZA HOTEL

We were provided with a Standard DeLuxe Room—pretty spacious. It has a dresser, drawers, 14” flat-screen cable television, air-conditioning, and an en suite toilet and bath. They provide free Internet Wi-Fi, but signal was kinda weak inside our room.

EN SUITE TOILET AND BATH

The toilet and bath is quite modern and spacious, I’m liking their tile design too. Toiletries and towels were all provided for and it has a hot shower to boot.

HALLWAYS DECORATED WITH ALL SORTS OF ARTWORKS

Scattered around Holiday Plaza Hotel’s interiors are various framed artworks and knick-knacks. I like how this keeps an otherwise uninteresting hallway, come to life. Sometimes, we’d rather take the stairs just to look at the displayed artworks. Well, sometimes. Yeah we’re lazy that way, lol.

LEVITATE BAR AT HOLIDAY PLAZA HOTEL

The hotel has three restaurants both for their guests and walk-in visitors; the Levitate Bar, Max’s Fried Chicken, and the Holiday Plaza Café. With limited choice of bars around the city, we usually frequent Levitate Bar during the evenings for a few bottles of beer before bedding down for the night.

COMPLIMENTARY MINI-BREAKFAST

And in the morning, we’d head over to Max’s Fried Chicken for the complimentary hotel breakfast. Don’t get your hopes up though, they won’t serve you their famous chicken dish. What they serve are mini-orders of your usual silog fares. Mini, meaning serving size is quite petite. Better make an additional order if you have a big appetite.

 

What we actually did one morning was to eat at the nearby Tuguegarao tapsilog stall after finishing off the hotel’s measly complimentary breakfast.

All in all, we’ve had a pretty comfortable stay at Holiday Plaza Hotel Tuguegarao. With its strategic location, everything was walking distance away. And with our room’s price, it was quite a steal. We couldn’t have asked for more. Well, okay maybe a Max’s fried chicken for breakfast would be nice, haha.
