AKLAN | The White House at Boracay’s Station One
Monday, November 23, 2015We were forced to wake early for breakfast after partying until the wee hours of the morning. We were after all at the island party capital of the Philippines, the famed or infamous—depending on how you view it—Boracay White Beach. Outside, kids are frolicking on the blinding white sand of the beach, unmindful of the big waves slamming the shore; us, we were at the patio of White House Beach Resort, enjoying our glass of iced tea, nursing a raging hang-over.
WHITE HOUSE BORACAY’S CLASSY LOBBY |
It was way past midnight when we arrived at the White House in Boracay. A couple of hours of flight delay and a couple more of transiting from the Kalibo Airport to our hotel of choice didn’t dampen our high spirits. We wanted to party the moment we arrived on the island and we got there just in time.

OUR THREE-PERSON DELUXE ROOM |
EN SUITE TOILET & BATH WITH HOT SHOWER, LINENS, AND TOILETRIES |
We were billeted at the hotel’s Deluxe Room. Furnished with comfy queen-sized bed and a single one. It is quite roomy, even if we were three in the group. It has an LCD cable television (albeit, a tad too small), a thermos for coffee and tea (no free coffee and tea though, good thing we have a few stashed in our backpacks), and a mini-fridge.

OUR ROOM VERANDA, PERFECT FOR MORNING COFFEE |
What I love about it though were the numerous shelves and the spacious closet for our things. I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to arranging my stuff. I also dig that our room opens to our very own verandah where we can have coffee before waking and sleeping—yes, before sleeping. They also provide a low hanger bar for drying our sea-drenched clothes.

LONGSILOG AT STATION JUAN CAFE |
Mornings usually find us at the Station Juan Café, their in-house restaurant, which serves both complimentary Filipino and Continental breakfast for guests. While we’re all used to breakfast buffets, their servings of my favorite longsilog were pretty good. I didn’t miss the buffet table at all.
WHITE HOUSE BORACAY’S CORRIDOR FROM THE ROAD TO THE BEACH |
WINDBREAKERS SET AT THE RESORT’S BEACH FRONT DUE TO HABAGAT SEASON |
White House Boracay is located on White Beach’s quieter and more luxurious side, Station One, but it can also be accessed via the island’s main road. So, if you’re coming from the port or going to the port, there’s no need to walk with all your bags in tow along the alleys leading to the beach and then trudge along the sand to the resort.
LOUNGE AREA AT THE BEACH FRONT |
BORACAY’S FAMOUS WILLIE’S ROCK NEAR THE RESORT |
WATCHING THE SUNSET AT WHITE HOUSE’S BEACH FRONT |
And that is what endeared me to Boracay’s White House. After you drop your bags through the road entrance, you can immediately head over to the beach and enjoy its fine white sand and emerald waters without competing with the throngs of tourists staying at Station Two and Three. And oh, did I mention that the famous Willie’s Rock is just a stone’s throw away from it? And so does, Diniwid Beach. Now, whip out that selfie stick and snap that cellphone on!
