METRO MANILA | Cocoon Boutique Hotel, Stylish Weekend Stay in Quezon City
Sunday, August 14, 2016With the gang in tow, we trooped towards our favorite area in Quezon City, Timog Avenue. It’s where all the happening places in the city are, and it’s where all the new snazzy boutique hotels in the metro are mushrooming. On this particular weekend, we booked a stay at the four-star Cocoon Hotel.

WAITING AREA NOOK AT THE GROUND FLOOR |
Located at the corner of Scout Rallos and Scout Tobias, it is situated on the quieter parts of the area but still just walking distance away from most of the restaurants and bars along Timog Avenue. It was almost dinner time when we arrived, but we were still quite full from our very Chinese meal at Lido Cocina Tsino in Makati.
WE’RE BILLETED ON THE 4TH FLOOR OF COCOON HOTEL |
After settling in on our One Bedroom Suite with another adjoining room [CHECK RATES & AVAILABILITY], we immediately headed down to the second floor where we availed of Cocoon’s complimentary 15-minute foot massage. We’ll enjoy our rooms later, lol.

FOOT SPA AREA AT THE SECOND FLOOR |
We quickly filled in the required forms and our feet were soon being scrubbed down for the massage. As far as I can remember, this is only the second hotel I’ve experienced a complimentary massage for guests in the Philippines, and even though it was only for 15 minutes, each minute was very much worth it. It was really good!
COCOON’S SUITE LIVING AREA |
Back in our suite, we chit-chatted for a bit while waiting for the rest of the TeamRH gang to arrive. The living room area is big enough for the whole team, even with guests included.
TASTEFULLY DECORATED ROOMS |
Scanning the room, I can see that the decors are tastefully done, with cute little wooden sculptures, lamps, and paintings to lively up the space. Each room, of course, has its own flatscreen cable TV, and surprisingly, a toilet and bath. Well, okay, the living room doesn’t have a bath, but a powder room. It was really convenient for a big group like us.

AND AN EVEN MORE SPACIOUS TOILET AND BATH |
THE ADJOINING ROOM WITH AN EXTRA BED |
Three of our friends stayed at the adjoining room, which was set with an extra bed. While we stayed at the huge main bedroom with its comfy queen-sized bed and a massive toilet and bath, complete with bath tub.
With our friends finally complete, we headed to our favorite watering hole with tables set right by the sidewalk; it was conveniently located just right across Cocoon Hotel. They have cheap Red Horse beer by the litros and isaw barbecues cooked on demand. Perfect for a full night of travel stories and crazy antics.
I can’t remember exactly what time we went back to our room and plunked down on our bed, but it was full morning when I regained consciousness. Still a bit inebriated from last night’s drinking session, we headed to Cocoon’s roof deck for the hotel’s complimentary breakfast.
ROOFTOP POOL AT COCOON HOTEL |
AL FRESCO RESTAURANT AT THE ROOF DECK |
The sky was the color of lead and it looks like it was about to rain but Cocoon’s al fresco rooftop restaurant, which sits right beside the pool, was more than ready for it with stylish tarps installed on the open halls of the dining area.
BULACAN GARLIC LONGANISA BREAKFAST SET MEAL FOR ME |
BREADS AND PASTRIES AT THE MINI BUFFET |
Their breakfast is a combination of set meals and a buffet of sorts. You order from a selection of Filipino and International breakfast meals, but you can also get unlimited pastries, fruits, and egg choices on their buffet spread. Not bad, especially for me who can’t seem to control my diet when it comes to buffets, lol.
~ BIG THANKS TO OUR FRIENDS FROM COCOON HOTEL FOR OUR STAY. VIEWS & OPINIONS IN THIS REVIEW ARE ALL MINE.
