METRO MANILA | Hive Hotel’s Party Suite in Quezon City
Monday, August 15, 2016The rain poured as we alighted from our van, transferring from the nearby Cocoon Boutique Hotel to Hive, their sister hotel. We were on the second day of our QC staycation and the latter was gonna be hosting our stay for the next 24 hours. The two are actually just walking distance away from each other but they were very generous and insisted on providing us with a van—for us and our luggages—we willingly obliged, of course, lol.

Hive Hotel’s lobby is a mix of contemporary modernism interspersed with funky adornments. On one corner stands a tall bookcase painted in bright oranges and filled with meticulously arranged Lonely Planet travel guide books. On another, bare white walls are made more interesting with old wooden planks and circular metal flourishes. And finally, the furniture—over-the-top retro with its seventies inspired forms and colors. Coolness!

After a quick check in, we were soon herded to the 6th floor of the hotel. The door dinged open to a spacious two-storey al fresco restobar set with lawn tables and chairs, gurgling circular Jacuzzis and a real grass lawn. A few meters away, the rain was lashing away at the metro, making everything looked surreal.
Apparently, this is where our Party Suite is located [CHECK RATES & AVAILABILITY]. It cannot be more perfect.
THE PARTY SUITE, BEFORE WE MESSED EVERYTHING UP, LOL |
Swiping our key cards, we were greeted by four thick beds, a central counter-style glass table and tall black plush chairs over a beautiful wood-plank flooring. We were seven in the group and the pull-outs on a few of the beds made it even-steven. Hive Hotel’s party room indeed looked ready enough for a night of hard partying, what with the bar just right outside our door!
EN SUITE TOILET STALL, WITH REFILLABLE SOAP HOLDERS |
Our room has the usual clothes closet, electronic safe, coffee facilities, and flatscreen cable television. And as with shared rooms like these, they do have separate stalls for the toilet and bath. They were discretely situated on the right corner of the room, but still, I wished they did away with the opaque glass door since not all people are comfortable showering with their profiles vaguely outlined through the door.
LOVING THE TEXTURE OF THE WALLS AND FLOORS |
PARTYING LATER! |
The party, of course, happened that night. it was just unfortunate that I have to miss the shenanigans as I had to visit a friend all the way to Marikina. The gang were all snoring fast when I arrived back in the wee hours of the morning. With really no choice left, I joined their nocturnal symphony.
It wasn’t a few hours after when we all sat groggily on the bed, wishing for hot breakfast.
SEMI-BUFFET BREAKFAST AT HIVE HOTEL |
And Hive Hotel’s complimentary breakfast was just a hop away from our door. Like Cocoon, they offer almost the same Filipino and International fares complemented by a semi-buffet of breads and fruits. I know they have garlic longganisa (which came from Bulacan, by the way), but just to try something else, I went with their Hungarian sausage meal. I kinda miss my longsilog on first bite, but it wasn’t too bad either.
~ BIG THANKS TO OUR FRIENDS FROM HIVE HOTEL FOR OUR STAY. VIEWS & OPINIONS IN THIS REVIEW ARE ALL MINE.
