INDONESIA | The Trans Resort Bali, Total Luxury in Seminyak
Saturday, August 29, 2015Twilight was upon us as our van wended its way across the traffic-laden roads of Kuta and parked along the driveway of the Trans Resort Bali in Seminyak. We were supposed to check in around midday but our Bali temple tour took much longer than expected. Now on the tail-end of the Bali leg of our two-month Asean Summer Loop tour, it has been more than a week of non-stop touring for us around the island. What we’re now craving for was a much needed rest before we fly out to Jogjakarta.
EVENING ARRIVAL AT THE TRANS RESORT BALI |
THE RESTAURANT OVERLOOKING THE POOL AREA |
Located near Seminyak’s restaurant lane and shopping area, Trans Resort Bali is a fairly new resort on the island. It has, however, quickly garnered a reputation for being one of the premier resorts in the Seminyak area of Bali, and fairly so. The five-star resort boasts of almost two hundred rooms and suites, sixteen of those are grand villas each with an access to a private pool. It has a dedicated restaurant that serves legit Indonesian and Western cuisine, and it also has a spa which provides superb Balinese massage.
OUR ROOM, THE FAMILY SUITE |
We were three in the group and we were billeted on their Family Suite [CHECK DISCOUNTED RATES]. It’s actually a combination of their Celebrity Suite and Premiere Club Room which has a connecting door. The suite is vast. And I’m not exaggerating. We were like three small pellets inside one huge box. We literally have to holler just to call on each other.
LIVING AREA |
WORK STATION |
The rooms are decorated in contemporary style—clean lines, and plain walls with a few classic trims and paintings here and there. The furniture are all lovely and the flatscreen televisions are humongous, as expected from a resort this caliber.
THE BEDROOM OPENS DIRECTLY TO THE POOL |
But the best part about our suite was the balcony. As we opened the curtains, we were bowled over to find the central pool right outside the deck. And we have a private access to it too! Absolutely sweet!
PRIVATE POOL AREA |
After we were herded into our rooms and have been shown its features, the attendant addressed us in our names and nonchalantly told us that should we need anything, we just have to ring the phone for our round-the-clock personal butler. A personal butler? Seriously? Seriously. Wow.
THE MAIN POOL AREA |
Picking up our jaws from the floor, we unloaded our packs into our walk-in-closets. A sip of coffee at the balcony later made us decide to strip down and dive into the pool. I like how a hedge of greens provide a privacy screen to our side of pool while still being connected to the main swimming area.
THE POOL HAS REAL BEACH SAND |
And that main swimming area, it has beach sand! As in real beach sand. If ever you decide not to utilize the free shuttle to Seminyak Beach, which takes about ten minutes, you can then have your beach photos right inside the resort!
TOILET AND BATH |
C then decided to soak in the tub—yes, they do have bath bombs—right after, while M and I decided to finish off the bottles of Bintang beer we brought along with us.
A STAYCATION IS WHAT WE CHOSE |
Indeed it was time to regroup. The dilemma, to cancel our tour the next day and simply bask in luxury of Trans Bali Resort or continue exploring Bali. The former won. We’ve seen enough of Bali. It’s now time to relax.
